Dallas Mavericks: 20-1

Here is a scary thought, via Tim MacMahon of ESPNDallas.com:”You don’t get any better than Rick Carlisle crime, however, Carlisle’s offense got better this offseason.”
Drink this one in.
Last season, Carlisle’s Mavs tied for second in the league having an offensive rating of 109, decimal points behind the NBA-best Los Angeles Clippers, according to NBA.com. While the loss of genius sniper and facilitator Jose Calderon will sting, Dallas brought to soften the blow. And a few possessions can be absorbed by Monta Ellis also, which will not be a bad thing for the Mavs’ attack.
The significant increase comes from Chandler Parsons, who will slot in small forward to absorb nearly all of the wing minutes Shawn Marion and Vince Carter. Tyson Chandler mans the middle of what should be a better defense.
What Dallas has is delicate. It depends upon the wellbeing and continuing potency of Dirk Nowitzki, around whom an elite offense may be built. That is a remarkable thing to mention about a participant, but Nowitzki is, himself.
Provided that he’s able to stand upright, he’ll be a defense-shredder in the place. And the remainder of the Mavs will play him off as Carlisle pulls on the strings from the seat.
Doubt this set of vets in your own risk.
