Monday Night Football brings us the intriguing prospect of Aston Villa v West Ham — two sides I have not quite worked out yet (in West Ham’s case, I don’t think I will ever work out them ).
Dean Smith’s men have suffered a somewhat rocky start to life back at the Premier League, losing against Bournemouth, Spurs and Crystal Palace — book-ending a great victory against Everton in Villa Park.
Their success over the Toffees was a very clear sign that gift is not in short supply, although with so many new faces to bed into the negative, it is little surprise that Villa have not hit the ground running.
West Ham, inconsistent as always, encounter this to the back of consecutive successes against Norwich and Watford due to the excellence of fresh striker S??bastien Haller –and now I’m backing them to conquer against Villa on Monday, which is priced at 17/10.
The likes of Felipe Anderson, Manuel Lanzini, Andriy Yarmolenko and Haller can lead to any team from the league problems, and they’ll need to be firing to compensate for their less-than-stellar defensive listing.
The Hammers have the endings, and at the price, they are worth against a Villa side searching for their own identity checking.
As I said, S??bastien Haller is gravy that is different.
Last season, despite a number of injuries, Haller scored 20 goals in 41 matches for Eintracht Frankfurt within an wing upwards together with Ante Rebic and Luca Jovic, so it’s little surprise he has taken to the Premier League just like a duck to water.
The Frenchman has scored three goals in his last two league games, and that I enjoy 17/10 to allow him to get the web at any moment on Monday.
West Ham would be certain they could create chances; Villa’s only victory against Everton has been despite their traffic’ xG being 1.56, much higher than Villa’s 0.81, don’t anticipate Haller to become starved of goalscoring opportunities.
